David Sears directs the New York-based Breslov Center for Spirituality and Inner Growth. He is the author of several books, including The Tree That Stands Beyond Space: Rebbe Nachman of Breslov on the Mystical Experience, The Path of the Baal Shem Tov and Compassion for Humanity in the Jewish Tradition. A skilled artist, he has also written and illustrated a number of Jewish children’s books, including Rebbe Nachman’s mystical allegory, The Lost Princess.
Rabbi Noson Sternhartz (1780–1844) was the foremost disciple of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772–1810) and is known as “Reb Noson” among Breslover Chasidim.
